Hey, quick question about dress shirt fitting.

I'm in need to some quality dress shirts and I was pointed towards Charles Tyrwhitt for their 4 for 100GBP sale. Turns out to be 4 for ~$160 with free shipping to US.

I'm 5'11 165lbs. My shirt size I usually get are 15.5 -35, and for reference, Banana Republic Slim-Fit Mediums fit perfectly on me.

What type of Charles Tyrwhitt shirts would fit well with my size?? Slim fit or Tailored fit?? Thanks.
You're most likely a 15 and BR Slim Fit Med doesn't fit you at all. Speaking out of experience, as we're almost identical in height and weight. I also thought that BR Slim Fit Med fit me well. I bought 15.5 TM Lewin shirts and they were too big. Get size 15 and thank me later.

I'm looking for a topcoat in the $300 range. What do you guys suggest? I'm looking for the long style coat as I would be wearing this to cover up my suits.

If you have to ask...

That's the thing, a couple friends think it looks amazing on me. Unfortunately, these are the same friends that buy 20 dollar jeans. I wouldn't even be asking if styleforum hadn't indoctrinated me into the group think.... I'm still recovering from "no black shoes with navy".

If the trou can't be tailored, donate it. Sometimes the best edits are the most painful.

It may end going that way. It will hurt.

Thanks for the help guys.

Are tshirts under thin, tighter fitting vnecks acceptable? This is the combination in question. Ignore the shoulder sticking up it's just out of the bag and still has creases.

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone knew of a thread where I could get some advice on how to work a particular piece into my wardrobe. Say, what shirt/tie/trouser combination best works for this particular SC, for example. Thanks in advance for any guidance.
