I don't like the pairing of blazer with jeans, but that personal preference aside...

Some suit jackets work much better as sportscoats than do others. Without seeing the suit jacket in question, it's difficult to give a meaningful answer to your question.

I'm tempted to suggest that taking it that extra step from "sportscoat" to "blazer," should involve the changing out of the suit jacket's buttons with metallic ones, but I acknowledge that this may be nitpicking. Although replacing an orphaned suit jacket's buttons with ones that are more sportscoat-like (say, leather buttons), can help in transforming it into its new wardrobe role. It's not a particularly expensive or difficult change, and it can really make a major difference in the look and perceived level of formality of a former suit jacket.

But, again, some suit jackets can manage the transition pretty well, and others can't. Show me some pictures, if you want a more solid answer from me than that.

Two part question. I was looking at purchasing some Grenson 0006-01, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this brand/shoe and their thoughts or if they had possible recommendations of similar shoes. 

Secondly, sizing. Since I would be ordering from overseas and do not readily have a place to try this brand on does anyone know how the sizing compares to Allen Edmonds (5-65 Last 11) or Alden (trubalance last 10.5).

I will occasionally do this when flying- then you can ask the attendant to hang your suit jacket so it won't wrinkle in a small bag.

aside the shoddy tie knot I quickly threw on to try this combination out before training today, is this tie ok with the suit material? or are they ugly together?

 

tie is browns and beiges, but quite washed out tones. and it's tweed. the suit material is very smooth, almost felt-like. 

 

Why is it that men often toss their tie over their shoulder when using the facilities? If your tie is too long that it would block your stream, let that serve as a rude reminder to re-tie your tie.

I have experienced the sink splatter, but never the piss. Am I to drop my trousers in order to avoid splatter on those?

I do contort my body in a way to avoid the unfortunate event of water soaking my pants when washing hands.
