Just got two Robert Talbott silk knit ties, my first two silk knit's. They were at Nordstrom Rack so I picked them up real quick since they were the last ones.

Was curious if these were good quality. Pictures below.

Robert Talbott is generally excellent, though it surprises me to see they make their knits in China.

I was looking at other ties by Talbott and they all said made in Italy. I got these without looking where. I noticed while taking the pictures that it says China.

I'm not too mad about it. I really like them. I just wanted to make sure (and hoped) these were decent so I know where to go from here with quality.

Thanks Jeff.

I'm about to buy a pre-owned 9/10 (no tear, no hole, no stain) Gianluco Isaia Napoli suits in solid charcoal gray for around $350. The only downsize is the jacket length seem to be 0.25" shorter then my favorite sport coat length while all other measurement perfectly matched with my body measurement.

So my question is:
Is it a good price for a pre owned Gianluco Isaia Napoli?
Is 0.25" in jacket length really make a big differences that we consider the jacket is not fit?

Thanks all

Quirky as it may be, I like white shirts with subtle, white patterns.

I recently purchased some Clarks brogues while travelling overseas. I only noticed that the left (foot) shoe has slanting shoelaces after tying it using straight lace method.

Any help would be appreciated in regards to the cause of it.

Does anyone know if this rip can be repaired? If yes, about how much would it cost? Thanks!

Are winged collars still the choice with a tuxedo/bibbed shirt/bow tie on New Years eve.  If not, what to wear?

Cheers,

Does the coat cover your behind?

Need some shirt advice. I have a big neck (16.5") for someone who wears a 40R suit. Brooks Extra Slim is the best I've found for OTR dress shirts but it's still not quite right. What about J. Crew's Ludlow? I hear it's pretty slim. Any other suggestions are welcome.

^ I have the same problem and got tired of paying to to get OTR shirts that fit around the neck altered to fit well around my torso too, only to have to live with the shoulders and sleeves being off. I now got with MTM, mostly from moderntailor.com.

Does the 7 indicate the drop thus in turn indicating an orphaned suit coat? If not, what does it mean?

Thanks.

No, some makers include a number that indicates a drop even for an odd jacket. Gives you and indication of the cut of the jacket and the taper between chest and waist.

I

It is an online deal so I couldn't have chance to try it on.
But the sport coat that I have totally cover my butt, so perhaps 0.25" shorter won't make the suit look silly on me?
