Is anyone willing to help me price these shoes for B&S? They are Aberdeen lasted Alden's in cordovan. I haven't worn this pair since 2002, so I think it's time they go to someone who might actually wear them. The Aberdeen last just doesn't look right on my foot. How do they look in terms of condition? This is my only pair of shoes in cordovan - they have a few tiny little raised dots or bubbles near the toe crease - is this normal? They are indeed quite small, and only noticeable upon very close inspection.

I know that nice suit jackets have canvas under their lining, but this strange thing which I just got seems to have the lining hanging out... it's a name designer jacket, but surely this can't be done on purpose?

Is it like this because they want you to alter it before wearing it for the first time?

Going to take it to a tailor tomorrow, but unfortunately I'm stuck in the middle of southern Sweden right now, and I'm afraid the tailors around here aren't exactly Savile Row... (though this might be a silly assumption, I'm fairly sure there doesn't exist a jacket in this price range in this town and never has).

Please excuse the shoddy picture quality:

Dumb question:

I have a linen shirt that fits me like a blouse.

Is it worth having a linen shirt taken in at the waist/chest a bit, or linen not really a good fabric to bother doing this?

I don't see why a linen shirt would be any less eligible for alteration than a shirt made of any other fabric.

Does anyone know anything about the age and quality of the "Givenchy Gentleman" line as shown on this suit here? Looks like it might be old enough to where it was before their quality went down the tubes, but I don't know that for sure.

Folks- Does anyone know where I can find the following bag:

Its called the Mismo M/S Work Bag

I have been hunting for this bag for ever and tried all the online retailers listed on Mismo's site.

If you know of anyone/store selling this bag; I would much appreciate the lead.

Thanks!

No that can't be on purpose. Looks like something got ripped or came undone.

OTOH it shouldn't take a master tailor to fix it. Just a bit of sewing.

A question on buying vintage shoes:

I'm considering picking up a pair of old Florsheim Imperials longwings from a local thrift store. They look to be in pretty good shape, but of course the soles are very dark/old looking.

Since these shoes are probably 20+ years old - my question is this: How durable are old shoes like this?

I love the idea of finding a cheap pair of quality shoes, but I'm worried that because of their age they will fall apart really easily.
