Boston. My budgets around 600-700. Would like to get 2 shirts for that price though. I'm unsure about Zegna and their fit since their suits aren't slim at all, so I'm guessing their shirts won't be as slim fit? I've tried Thomas Pink but returned since I didn't really enjoy the quality for the price.
I think I might try Napoli Su Misure when she comes to Boston next week. Are Charvet RTW worth the $300 price? After this, going to start ordering from Luxire instead of RTW shirts
I'm just looking for 1-2 really well fitting shirts for more important occasions. Thanks
Well I've never tried NSM's shirts, but many SF members seem happy with them. But be warned you might find it hard to go back once you've tried proper bespoke...post #18693 of 2187411/26/12 at 2:01pmpost #18694 of 2187411/26/12 at 2:07pmQuote:

Will has answered this many times and I think his advice is spot on.Quote:On dressier occasions socks should be similar to the trouser, not the shoe, and that includes texture as well as color. Wear heavier weight gray socks with heavier gray trousers, and lighter weight navy versions with lighter weight blue. Slightly more advanced dressers may add a contrasting pattern in that similar color and texture. A large herringbone works nicely. A vertical stripe begins to get a bit racy.
When proper sobriety is not required, all bets are off. Socks might pick up the color of something above the waist like the jacket or the pattern in a necktie, or just generally complement without matching like the light gray birdseyes in the photo.post #18695 of 2187411/26/12 at 2:12pmQuote:Originally Posted by IChen

RTW Zegnas can be really slim fit if you find the right ones, the best thing to do is go to the boutique and have them take a look at what fits you appropriately. The only downside I see with Luxire right now is the fabric selection, but if all you are concerned about is fit then get something custom, you can get much more than 2 shirts for that kind of price range.
post #18696 of 2187411/26/12 at 4:54pmHi again all, I know this has been addressed here, but I wanted to be sure.
I just purchased a really nice pair of used burgundy cordovan Allen Edmonds loafers and they need a little care. I brought them to AE and the rep there sold me some cordovan shoe care cream. Fine. Now I'm hearing that you should NEVER use cream and should only stick to wax when it comes to cordovan.
Any opinions on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
EDIT:
I can see from browsing here that his is a very debatable topic. I'll just go with the cream for now (since I already own it) and perhaps order the wax for the future.

I've been lurking for a while and caught the style bug. I found a pair of shoes that I have become obssessed with:

Do you knwo of any other shoemaker that resembles that style? Low profile and possibly even same gradation of color?
I've been looking for the perfect shoe, and I feel like this is the form I like.post #18698 of 2187411/26/12 at 5:55pmpost #18699 of 2187411/26/12 at 6:25pmQuote:Originally Posted by Bartleby Trout

There's no way the AE cream will harm the shoes. As to whether it's necessary with Cordo shoes is another question, but it won't harm them.post #18700 of 2187411/26/12 at 6:32pmQuote:Originally Posted by Bartleby Trout

I think most of the shell heads use either Venetian shoe cream or renovateur on their shoes. The Mac method also uses wax sparingly.post #18701 of 2187411/26/12 at 6:53pmHello all. I was looking to buy a pair of loafers and stumbled upon these.

Are these out of style or do they look fine? I know they cannot be worn into a business formal setting but would be good for dressy to casual attire.
Would this belt also match well with these shoes? Thanks.

I'm not a fan but I don't see anything wrong with them. Except for the rubber sole. And that ugly toe box.post #18703 of 2187411/26/12 at 7:31pmQuote:Originally Posted by SartorialNYC

Quote:Would this probably be a better buy in terms of flexibility, looks, and style? It costs a bit more and isn't on sale like the one above, but maybe the above is onsale for a reason.

post #18704 of 2187411/26/12 at 7:50pmI'm having trouble finding great information on leather belts on SF. I own several in the $20-$100 range and every single one either scuffs easily or the leather starts showing wear within a couple months. Is it possible to get quality leather belts under $200 that won't scuff or crack? If so, what are some brand recommendations? Thanks.
