The fact that they are called "desert boots" might help inform his choice. That said, crepe soles are actually pretty long wearing and suede does better in the wet than most people think, particularly if you use a protectant spray. I wouldn't want to be trudging around in the snow in those, though, and they won't be particularly warm. Are they even lined?

I thought the pinch test was the best way to figure out a canvassed suit, but this link http://putthison.com/post/35710706689 suggests otherwise. Is asking the salesperson really the only way to determine this? How about for thrifters?

Unfortunately the sales rep told him they are for the winter and that is how they are marketing them. I convinced him to look into a AE boot instead.

Yeah we did, but I think the profile of that boot is too big for what he wears. He choose the AE long branch, now he just wants to find it under 350.

Hello all

 

I saw this coat and I really want to get one for myself. Trouble is as I saw it on TV, I have no idea what brand it is so I don't know where to start looking. Can someone please provide some information on this coat if they know anything?

The treated suede of desert boots does, anyway. I stepped in a creek accidentally with a Clark's desert boot, and it still looks the same as the other one.
