Would it be possible to convert a regular waistband into a split waistband with no ill effect? How much would this job cost?

Allen Edmonds Strand in Walnut vs. Alden for J. Crew Waxed Longwing in Tobacco???

Going to sell one of them, just not sure which to keep.

About 1% of SF members know exactly what each shoe looks like and is familiar with both shades. How about a photo?

Trying to figure out  how much customs would  be on a 350 GBP pair of boots being shipped from the UK to US..

Also If the shoes are made IN the USA would I still have to pay customs??

what are some nice casual shoes i can get to wear on a everyday or every 2 day basis. anything would do but nothing too expensive. also im a college student. i would like a pair of chelsea boots but also want something more casual. any tips?

I ordered an item from Wingtip San Francesco last night, and it still hasn't been processed. Do they typically take this long to process an order?

A pair of Sebago Cayman II penny loafers (in Cordo). You could likely find them on sale for about $100, which is somewhat more than a pair of Bass Wejuns, but I'm convinced that the Sebagos are of better quality than are current production Bass.

You can wear them every day or two. They're casual. They're not too expensive. Just what you asked for.

I'm honestly not trying to be a smartass, but couldn't you contact Wingtip San Francisco and ask them how long it'll take to process your order? (Although since you ordered the item on Sunday night, and it's still Monday morning out in San Francisco, it's probably a little premature to worry about a delay.)

Sell the Alden to me if its a 10D for $100 :P


I say keep both, but Alden's in Tobacco might be more versatile - I have strands in walnut, and it can sometimes get pretty limited since it is a bit bright compared to the tobacco

^ I would keep the Aldens, but that is strictly personal preference. I would find it easier pairing the Aldens with a suit than I would pairing the AE's with jeans.

Agreed, although didn't need the pics to stand by my previous answer.

Even though I own the AE's, the Alden's are slightly etter quality, slightly more durable, and the shade is more versatile. (everything ever so slightly)

 

Anyone have the Baker's oxfords with the lug sole?  I'm wondering how comfortable they are for long walks in an urban environment. I just do not like how the (Vibram 2021?) sole looks.

I wouldn't wear them with a suit. They're an inherently casual type of footwear (chukka boot), with a casual (suede) upper; there's little about them to suggest they'd be appropriate with a suit.

That having been said, no matter how unfortunate the idea, someone on SF is guaranteed to think that it could look good.
