They should look fine in normal size loops, most of my belts are only about 1".
The scuff on the toe is my biggest concern. I don't own them but I was thinking about buying them if they can be saved. Thanks for the info.
What do you think of this longwings to wear with my flannel pants (and any grey slacks in my future ).
Nothing wrong with the style of the shoe, but I don't think Black shoes with gray pants will look good.
It won't look bad, just formal and conservative.
You shouldn't take fit pics with your hands in your pockets. Makes them look like hammer pants.
But my real question, still unanswered is: apart from the fact that the shoes are black, would this shoes look too bulky/chunky for pants like those ?

Sounds natty enough for a less formal daytime wedding, though perhaps with a jollier tie (search "wedding tie" on here). You could even go for shoes other than black. But you should see what the dress code is - ask your friend. They may be expecting male guests to wear suits.
