I particularly ask because the lining of the pants doesn't match the lining on a RLPL suit I bought a few years ago.

To be honest I would say absolutely not worth it. As you are obviously uninterested in a black suit for the most part by saying it wasn't your choice, and assuming that you therefore would not be wearing it much after the fact, you could go for perhaps a hugo boss black  label which you can find for sub $400.

for that price, it could be fine to wear out to a club or some such after the fact, but if it never sees real life again you would b fine as well. it just seems that nearly $1,200 on a suit you seem to not care for very much is absolutely not work that $. Keep the other $800 and spend it on the bridesmaid you'll b bringing home that night!

+1 black jeans go with black, grey, or white. beyond that an you're at about 94% chance of looking terrible. Mind you, beat up black jeans with a white henley with a black leather or waxed cotton jacket (see: belstaff) can work great... perhaps with black chelsea boots and you look  like a bad mothaf*ckah. 

A dark blue jean has SIGNIFICANTLY more wearability. Brown, black, patterns, solids.... it's a go-to cure all look great. Get some naked & famous perhaps.

Hey MCers, this is probably a pretty common question, but I couldn't find anything by searching so I'm just gonna drop it here.

What's a good brand for cheaper dress shoes? I know that AE seconds or AE on sale is a pretty general recommendation around here, but I'm looking for a little cheaper than that. I'm your typical broke college student that will hopefully be going to SV post-graduation, so I don't expect to need really nice, last-forever dress shoes. I basically only really need them for job interviews/fairs, fraternity/sorority formals, and basic situations like that, so I'm looking for black caps or plain toed lace-ups that look good enough and stay within reasonable prices (<~130?). In case the colors are too washed out to see.. Both have alternating fabric patterns (flat and houndstooth, almost)

 

The left one has broad grey/silver and yellow stripes along with thinner orange pinstripes.Yellow and grey is more straight forward than the other tie (which is really bugging me) but I've never really worn orange of any kind so just wondering.

The right one is white along with stripes of pink, white, and dark dark maroon/red stripes. This one really throws me because white is one color (for ties) I'm not familiar with. It'd be too washed out by a white shirt, right? Light blue (since it goes with each color individually)?

Does anyone know how high the rise (or measurement) is on Charles Tyrwhitt moleskin trousers? I have contacted them twice but have had no concrete answer yet.

Would an OCBD with contrasting cuff lining (i.e., only shows when sleeves are rolled) be stupid?  Thinking blue OCBD with blue gingham.  I'm having trouble finding photos of something like this, which might been it's a bad idea.
