What does +2 mean when people list a sleeve length?

Thanks

Also, I should add the jacket in question is a size too big for me. I've already had it taken in, though I don't know whether the excess material was left or not. I'm between two minds on whether to have it shortened and wondering whether to attempt some vent surgery at the same time - I don't mind single vents but this one isn't sitting well at the back and not because of tightness - if anything it's still a bit loose but I trust the tailor's judgment on how much it needed taking in.

Normally it's not possible to add vents; if its been taken in then the extra fabric might become enough to form a vent, but probably not.

Probably that there's enough fabric inside the sleeve to let it out up to 2 inches.

I probably won't be getting them anyway, because of the price. I'm a low-budget shopper, mainly.

Those boots have already been featured on put this on and talked about on the forum. See : http://putthison.com/post/10797368619/folks-are-always-asking-me-about-more-affordable

During 40% off sales (which seems to get rarer nowadays), it might be worth it. Otherwise, as a low-budget shopper, I would be looking at eBay or B&S for a better item at a similar price point.

+2 normally means that the sleeve length is two inches longer than the brand's usual length. For example, on the Thomas Pink website the long sleeve shirts are typically two inches longer than the standard length

Muchos gracias.

That's probably too casual for a navy suit, regardless of the event. Large, colorful pattern and a button-down collar.
Something like this would be a bit better.

i really like plaid sports jackets...but the colors have to be right. i am not a fan of yellow on clothing haha...and not a fan of red and blue together either...unless its blue jeans and a red shirt.

I should probably already know the answer to this, but don't...

If I'm buying a sport coat with working buttonholes -- and the sleeves are about 0.75 inches too long, is that something my tailor can alter (i.e., shorten the sleeves), or is it a definite no go?

Thanks!

Anyone know how Allen Edmonds loafers fit?

I fit a 9D in the Strand pretty well. Would I also be a 9D in the Kenwood?

It apparently uses the "Handsewn 800 last"

Can someone please tell me what are these things going through buttonholes?

Looks cool, but can't figure out what it is.
Thank you

Tether for glasses. I can't remember what they're actually called.

The Knottery calls them Lapel Eyeglass Holders.

A competent tailor can do the alteration

In my experience, eyeglass tethers look much cooler in those photos than they do in real life. (Not that I've seen them all that often in real life, but on those few occasions when I have seen them, they've been "meh," at best.)

What are your thoughts on pairing seersucker with gingham? Is that too much going on?
