Which tie with the new suit?  Dark brown tie or light brown tie?  Shirt is light blue.

^^ The reppe tie gives a nice pattern to the outfit.

What do you think of this trench? It is a good price but they have a no return policy so I could be stuck.

Can pinstripes be too narrow?

Really depends. If you love it and is a good price, you kick yourself of you don't get it. But if your hesitating too much then maybe you don't want it that bad or you think it looks nt good on you.

I would like a solid mid grey suit that I can also split up and wear as separates. Any recommendations up to $600? I'm open to used as well.

Just as a warning, wearing the suitcoat as a sportcoat is generally a bad idea. It will always scream "I'm an orphaned suitcoat." Especially at that price point.

In the "should I buy" dept.....

I tried a pair on at my local shoe store (but this was the best link for photos), but they need to oder my size so I have some time to think about it. They are in their Limited line which if I am correct is between their standard line and the Imperial line. I am looking at the grey ones....so my question is would that be a good buy or is there something out there that would be of better quality for more or less the same price. Thanks.

For that money you can get an 1818 suit on sale from Brooks Brothers and have change left over to buy pants and a jacket. If you can find one on B&S you can get it for around $300.

FWIW I don't think it is a solid plan to wear your suit as separates. It makes more sense to buy an odd jacket, which can be had very inexpensively. JMO but a patterned odd jacket is more interesting anyway.

I agree. Too often, the solid or pinstripe orphan puts the wearer in a gray area--WTF is that guy doing? Does he think that mid gray orphan is a blazer?

Can anyone recommend me a good online source for cuff links or London based brick & mortar shops (I'd prefer online shops).

I'm looking into purchasing my first M&S brogues but I'm completely confused with the sizing. I wear a UK 8 in sneakers (new balance, adidas, nike), my footlength is 25 cm, should I go with 8 in brogues or size down one? Could anyone help me please?

Thanks, guys. You are, of course absolutely right. A suit jacket is a suit jacket and a odd jacket is an odd jacket. Usually nothing good comes of trying to make one into the other.

Are the lapels on this jacket too wide? They measure about 3 3/4" at the widest point, so I know they're on the wide side, but I'm wondering how they look given the rest of my proportions. I usually wear a 40R.

Thanks
