Wide lapels are a temporary fad too.

Forgot to mention, there is no boutonnière hole. The lapels aren't absurdly wide, but enough so that I would prefer them slimmer. I'll post a pic in a little while.

Hard to tell but they look to be Blake construction.

On edit: A close up of the sole from the top-side would help...now I'm thinking I see stitching where before I didn't.

The lack of a buttonhole makes the alteration much easier, and it also confirms that your coat is from the 70's.

Sorry you've lost me there. What do you mean a close up of the sole from the top-side?

Very quick question (as a maiden post)...how do all the Etro brands differ? I've seen various Etro with different numbers but Google-fu didn't help me differentiate between brands (i.e. is it like Boss Black v. Orange/Z-Zenga vs. just Zenga)...or just release versions.

I am looking for pocket square cloth (I want to try to make one on my own), could anyone hint me in the right direction?

I believe DWFII is referring to a close-up of where the sole meets the upper so he can examine the stitching more closely. Same shot, just a better view of the stitching.

A few years ago Polo had some trousers that people referred to as "platinum trousers". Anyone know who the maker would have been? Made in Italy very sturdy/thick.

any fabric store or online fabric retailer could be a source of silk, cotton or linen good for such a purpose.

Who makes Barney's trousers? Are they considered good quality?

I am liking this colorway:

521

Am I going to have to go custom to get there, or anyone know where to find a nice 3 piece glen plaid, etc...

Chances of finding a suit that looks like that OTR are about the same as winning  the lottery and not spending it on dumb shit.
