I have a gala event tonight and want to look my best. Which pocket square, tie combination will look best with this black suit?

Are you sure you don't want to introduce just a little more colour here? Like, maybe that striped tie with a pale blue or lavender square?

i'm partial to the solid tie with the white square... if those are your only options.

question: is it possible to get rubber soled shoes resoled? (specifically aldens)

tumblr_lrwy6oG9Db1qivg5fo1_500.jpgWhere can I find pants like these? Or what are they called/known as?

Just got some pants back from the tailor (4 pairs)

I am happy overall, but I guess it was my fault for not being clear. They gave me back the pants with a little break. That andthe 8.25" hem I feel looks really weird on me. Very full looking.

I would rather have it no break, single pleat, around 7.75" hem width.

Question is, asking the tailor afterwards, why break or no break on pants and what are the former and latter best suited for in terms of body types?
The tailor said usually pleats, there is some break to the pants.

I will be bringing the pants back to another tailor to have them taper and hem the pants again shog[1].gif

Also, two new ties. Too preppy/hipster? Ditch them or keep them? all opinions welcome.

Great summer shoes. They go with a lot of things, jeans, summery chinos, lighter colored summer wools. Good shoe to have in your closet.

Can anyone shed some insight on the construction of this shoe?

Here's a picture or two of the sole; it's sewn, but hidden.. never seen this before.

So I thrifted a jacket that fits great and has great construction, only problem is it has these huge retro looking lapels. Is it possible for a tailor to thin them, and do you guys think it would be an expensive alteration?

I suppose that a talented tailor could cut back the lapels and refinish the edges. Would this be worth the trouble and expense? Not even close.

Broad lapels can be awesome, and skinny lapels are a temporary fad that resurfaces only every 40-50 years. So how bad are they? Are you sure you need to do anything about them? Post a picture of your jacket!
