Is there that much of a difference? Should I just get the large and keep quite?

yeah but are you using the AE brand shoe tree in your TBNY shoes?
different brand shoe trees vary a bit in size so if you are going to buy AE shoe trees, you should follow their recommendation for sizing

Thank god someone finally responded. Sorry if I wasn't clear initally. I'm actually using a pair of cedar trees from Nordstom with the TBNY which works great.

Any idea of the difference between the full toe and combination. I'd like to order a pair before the end of the week.

Are you looking for classic men's clothes, or more SW&D type of stuff?

For classics, I agree with Biggskip, and would suggest you check out The Hound on Sutter, maybe Brooks (esp. for shoes), Ralph Lauren, Hickey Freeman. Alden for shoes. Allen Edmonds if you like them.

If you like hats, http://www.goorin.com/, and http://www.hatworksbypaul.com/

If I am not mistaken, a lot of the cedar shoe trees in North America are re branded Woodlore. Full toe has a one piece "toe: http://woodlore.com/mm5/merchant.mvc...e=Shoe-Trees-M Combination is split along the dorsal plane, and spring loaded: http://woodlore.com/mm5/merchant.mvc...e=Shoe-Trees-M I think the idea is that it will expand to fit a slightly wider shoe. I use both kinds, I am not sure it really makes a difference. Woodlore, btw, is owned by AE, so you will be getting the same product wherever you purchase it.

Anyone ever heard of Anthony Reed brand shoes? I just picked these up second hand but am unable to locate any details on them or the brand. Thanks in advance.

Does Filson have two different colors of Tan bag ("tan" and "dark tan") or is that different labels used for the same thing (on different websites)?

i'm trying to figure out what line these ferragamo loris shoes are and what kind of construction it has

That's the LO line. Studio is lowest.

The construction for the pair of shoes in question would be Blake rapid stitched.

Try Neil M. on Zappos. They are made in the USA and within your price range, but there isn't a lot of selection: http://www.zappos.com/neil-m-president-black-leather or this: http://www.onlineshoes.com/mens-neil...her-p_id204770

question about some allen edmonds on ebay...
i've seen a few with the bottom of the shoes painted black...
the seller's reason was to "prevent retail return" ...
does that make sense? is it some BS to cover up some other reason?

I bought a pair of "irregular" AE black/white spectators on eBay...when I got them, I was dismayed to find that someone (the AE factory?) had written codes and symbols all over the bottoms of the soles with black marker. I would imagine that the middle-men who buy these shoes from the factory store blacken the soles to make them more marketable. Incidentally, I couldn't find a thing wrong with mine, but promptly had them resoled!
