There is info out there, but it isn't coming from this forum. French Cuffs - what are the rules? When to wear them, when not, do I need to be at least x years old? Wear with a 3 piece suit? 2 piece? okay to wear when wearing a vest? Thanks for the input from the experts for I am shirt shopping tomorrow.

I'm looking to buy a Ralph Lauren Black Label Tux.
  1. When are the best RLBL sales? After Christmas?
  2. Would I have to buy from the local RL store?
  3. Would they have to have it in stock for me to get the sale price?

You are asking in the wrong place. Ask all the questions at the RL store.

Brown suede belt with a gold buckle. To match my soon-to-arrive C&J Malverns. Why is this so hard to find, and can anybody point me to one for less than $100, please?

EDIT: Well, scratch that. Apparently the consensus is suede shoes do not need a suede belt. So... nevermind.

Is there anyone who knows which glasses Paul Bettany is wearing here? I can't find an identifying feature on them by looking at the picture.

Not sure what he's wearing, but you can cop something exceptionally similar from Spexclub for <$100.

Is it a bad idea to get a Pea Coat altered? I've had the same coat for the past couple winters, but realized, after joining SF, that it does not fit correct. The arms need to be shortened, slimmed, and the sides need to be taken in. Is it a lost cause, or should I give it a shot?

Ask your tailor. It will depend on how much is being taken in and where.

Generally, however, the answer is no.

I have a quick question on Edward Green versus John Lobb Paris sizing. I need (want) another pair of double monks. I have a pair of Edward Green Westminster's in UK8, and was wondering what the appropriate sizing in JLP would be for the William II? Should I go with UK7.5 to correspond to a US8.5? Does anyone happen to own both and can comment on the sizing differences or similarities?

Glad to be of help, old boy. F.E. Castleberry of Unabashedly Prep is a proponent of theirs, put me on to them to begin with.

What do you guys think of wearing a knit tie for a business meeting? Would this be too casual? I was planning on wearing merlot Park Aves with the suit.
