AFAIK Sneakers do not loose their shape. But I use trees to absorb moisture and not to ease creasing and such.

Also what's the difference between a sneaker and a trainer???

Sneaker is just a general type of shoe. Such as casual vans or Sperry.

Trainers are athletic shoes, such as New Balance Running Shoes or Puma Training Shoes.

Not sure why I can't find a thread on this, but what is the general consensus slacks/pants for CBD. I currently have a couple of charcoal, a navy and black. What are the next most versatile colours? Med to light gray? Brown? Patterned gray?

if im not being clear, an example would be that boss and ted baker would be in the same lower level, but i dont know what SFers think the prices should be, ive only been to holts and harry rosen and they start at 900

(didnt know if this was more appropiate for the noob thread in streetwear, or the men style section) Have a wedding coming up, completely lack formal wear. I'm asked to wear black pants, black shoes, grey shirt, and a black tie (skinny). affordable recommendations? currently looking for oxford shoes < $100. And for pants and shirt I'd probably look around jcrew? appreciate any feedback

Anyone have any insight into Peal & Co for BB? Thinking about grabbing these guys but wanted to know if they are worth the $175.

J.crew + student discount should get you something to work with. As for shoes...I recommend looking at the Nordstrom Rack. Sometimes you can find allen edmonds for $100 (sometimes).

Is it proper to wear a black shirt with a suit? If so, what color ties should I be wearing? I work in finance.

Not unless you are going to a club, or attending a funeral. Even Funeral is subjective, as others say White Shirt is for funerals.

It would not be appropriate then.

It is never proper to wear a black shirt, and especially not to work during the daytime, and even more so not to a finance job.

Found an older style Bostonian Classics brand shoe made in the US with a man-made sole from Italy, I don't have any pictures of it yet, wonder if it's worth the $20 to buy it at a thrift store. I've seen the newer Bostonians with the tagging on the tongue of the shoe; however, the information is on the inside quarter of the shoe. I know there isn't high regards for a lot of American shoe brands from researching on here, except when stumbling upon older shoes before they were outsourced. I know I could go to Nordstrom Rack to see if I can find discounted AE shoes, although I'm a cheap, college kid. PS - Been a lurker for awhile, but all this information on clothing is very interesting to me, now I'll have decent clothing instead of asking why all my clothes are shitty.

I have a fully lined linen jacket. Can the lining be taken out of the back panel without compromising the integrity of the jacket?

Hello all, first post on the forum (been lurking for a while), and in typical fashion it is a question.
I know this is a matter of taste, but, are these lapels too wide? I think they add a bit of panache but am sensitive to looking like I walked out of 1974.

Cheers,

Anyone familiar with "The Label"? Made in England. Picked up a blazer at a thrift store and am really digging it. It's a bit hard to google cause of the name.
