Hmm, I didn't realize they had such a wide selection of what is essentially junk. That said, they still make lots of welted Vibram-soled shoes that can be resoled. Benton, Van Ness, etc.

Some of the nicer shirt companies use heat treatments rather than chemicals for non iron treatments.

And even with a non iron shirt, you still have the option to iron. You have the option to iron a frigging t-shirt if you so desire.

I am seriously depressed!

I am an Asian, about 165cm and skinny built (not just slim, at skinny side), living in Singapore.

I have a charcoal tailor-made suit, which I sometimes wear the jacket as a sports coat from time to time. I know some of you will totally not like it; but since I have a limited wardrobe, I have to maximise the use.

Anyway, as I want to add some additions to my wardrobe, I have been shopping around for some new sports coat. Nothing too structured, since I want to wear it more casually.

But the problem is that most brands available in Singapore don't seem to carry a size that fits me. I have been to top-end brands, as well as mid-brands like Uniqlo and Topman. But to my dismay, none carry my size!

Recently at Topman, I tried on size 34, which is like the smallest size of blazers and sports coat I've tried on. But alas! the shoulder fits okay, but the waist and chest are still too big with me! Sleeves are okay, since I can alter them, but the waist and chest... I don't even know if my tailor can save it all .

Folks, any options or advices for this poor soul? I am totally depressed. I know that I should build my body to a better shape and it will take time. What should I do for my wardrobe in the mean time?

I need a pair of dress shoes for my charcoal suit. Price point is somewhere under $100.00. I might have to resort to some place local. What should I be looking for?

Consider spending an extra $50 and buying a pair of discontinued Allen-Edmonds at near half price. Call them up and see what they have available in your size. This way, you'll get a shoe that will last you when you need it for other events. Depending on what style you get (e.g. blucher over balmoral, rough grain over smooth grain), you might have the option to wear them with jeans; of course, I'm not sure how formal you expect the funeral to be. For under $100, the only shoe I can think of would be a Florsheim. They're lower quality, but if you're just wearing them once, it's not that big of a deal.

What are the rules - if there are any - for wearing loafers with jeans? Can they be somewhat glossy, or does this produce too formal a look? I have these loafers, and I'm wondering how versatile they are for a college environment.

I wear penny loafers with jeans all the time. Shiny is fine. Just make sure your jeans fit well (no sag, no stacking), and are clean.

Thinking ahead for the BB June sale. Are any of the clearenced sports coats worth it? Which ones would you guys recommend and why? Any other clearenced items I should keep a look out for (e.g. scarves and other accessories)?

Does anyone know where to get those Felt boutonnière things? I've seen a lot of people with them and they look really neat.

I bought some new mabitex pants and it came with a string-like fabric that is about 1.5cm x 75cm (not thread since its woven together). What is this supposed to be for? It doesn't look like it is a spare for anything on the pants.

It's the material used to line the cuff of the pants. It gives the cuffs more weight so that the fabric can hang more cleanly.

Question on scarves: what colors match best with a charcoal overcoat?

Recently received some Kent Wang pocket squares. Nice quality, but I have issues with the folded pocket squares constantly falling down into my pocket. Additionally, with the TV Fold, the pocket squares look sort of narrow. I think this has something to do with the small proportions (12x12). Is there a way to overcome these problems, or should I try to get a refund?
