C&J's 240 last (used on a lot of BB shoes) is very clunky. Not everything C&J makes is sleek.

he was just making fun of me using "shoe" instead of "shoes"

hey, i picked up these 2 coats at a thrift store...$10 and $8...not sure how on the fit, and I'm looking to see what you guys think...

First one feels good in the shoulders, but maybe a little bit baggy in the armpit area.

Second one feels a little wide in the shoulders but good everywhere else.

^ First thing first: never close the bottom button

Also, the shoulder of the first one is wide, hence the odd shape of the arms. The same thing with the second pic. Lengthwise, they're fine.

What are my best chances for finding a good navy blue 2-button in a decent brand on a short timeframe? I'm a 40S in the DC metro area, and need to bolster my suit wardrobe a bit within the next 3 weeks for a job. I've been spoiled by Filene's, where I just managed to find a pair of Hickey Freeman mainline suits (charcoal and charcoal pinstripe) for $800 total. Plain ol' navy seems extremely hard to come by at the discount shops, which isn't really a shocker.

I don't really want to drop $1300 on a pair of 1818s from BB (after corporate discount) since the 2/$1000 sale is coming up in June, and even though the HF suits fit me great I'm not thrilled about spending $895 to get one off Bluefly. Should I just suck it up and get something close to retail since I got good deals on my others, or is there another option out there I'm missing? I've already done the Nordstrom Rack/Syms/etc. stuff.

Thank you!!!!

hey

i have one of those kind of long wool/cashmere jackets, black simple but its custom and nice, probably goes down to a little above my knees. i generally only wear it with nicer clothes, like a cashmere sweater, some sort of sweater/shirt/tie thing but would it be cool to wear it with a sweatshirt (a nice thin one, not like a sports team sweatshirt or anything) or would that look strange because its long jacket?

also i mean with jeans/normal sneakers (like nicer vans/pumas, white soled stype shoes) not necessarily dress shoes (but i do wear sneakers with sweaters/button down shirts and stuff tho so thats not the weird part to me)

gracias

Sounds fine. Hard to know for sure without pictures, but the concept is okay.

Hey all, n00b help needed. My selection of pants/trousers is pathetic, I'm tired of jeans. I need some nicer trousers to go with all of my dress shirts when i'm not wearing a suit-- what are some good slim brands that I should be looking at? Preferably something that doesn't cost me my car.

Also, what chinos, if any, do you guys like? Docker's has run its course. Thanks for any help

From what i understand brooks brothers has several outlets which are not like the factory stores in outlet malls with mostly mainline bb and other lines, sometimes they mark the tags at these. Where are these located? Thanks
