Consider it will be a tie worn with a navy hopsack jacket during summer and surely blue shirts.
I considered navy, but the jacket is navy, so I would avoid.
Black, too dramatic.
I think a lot of people say black. If not navy, I would say brown, burgundy, or green.

I don't know I'm not convinced about black,as i said it looks very dramatic to me.
I will surely wear brown shoes and I read somewhere the brown tie with brown shoes might clash, is there any guideline to follow?
I'm considering burgundy

There are so many shades of brown. I don't think that should be an issue.

Is there any really good indepth guides for picking colours for low-contrast men. I really struggle with colour theory tbh.

If you are dead set against going with Navy, and there's no rule against wearing a navy tie with a navy suit, then I'd say go with burgundy or brown, depending on the shoes. Brown with Brown shoes, Burgundy with black or brown shoes. Black is good as well, but wear it with black shoes.

There's no need to match your tie to your shoes.

I recently thrifted a gorgeous Zileri-made black chalk/rope stripe DB suit, I have yet to wear it however because I'm concerned it'll make me look like some type of wannabe gangster or mafioso. Any ideas on what to pair with it to avoid those stereotypes?

Nah, but I think a black tie and brown shoes looks weird.

Yeah, I think the concern is more avoiding clashing.

Always going to be a risk, but ensuring the cut is not too boxy will help. Otherwise, bring some colour in with the shirt (e.g. blue) and make are the tie is not too dark, probably avoid solids. Make sure you wear a pocket square, no self respecting hit man would...

I don't think I've ever worn my black knit tie with black shoes.

Well that, sir, is just weird.

I just tend not to wear knit ties with suits. I don't have any aversion to doing it, and have seen it done well many times. Since I only wear black shoes with suits (a personal non-rule "rule"), my black knit tie has never been worn with black shoes.

Black ties with non-black shoes:

Does anyone know how to size Diemme footwear? I'm a brannock 12D and I found a pair that I've been searching for a while in size 11, but I'm unsure if I can fit. Any help is appreciated!
