Evening (here)!

I'm planning to wear a charcoal suit and light blue shirt for a meeting this week. I can't decide on the right tie since I don't have plain dark ties. Can I wear an all navy paisley? What about a rust background with blue stripes?

Thanks in advance!

Pics would help, but I'd probably go with the blue paisley. Probably.

You only have two ties???

Haha, no I have others.  I just didn't think any of the others would be better.  Here is a pic with several from which to choose.  The two I previously mentioned are 2nd/3rd from top.

I'd go with the navy/ blue dotted one. It looks more conservative to me than the paisley, but they're both fine, really.

Your call...

Any of those 3 blue ties will do nicely, but me thinks the 2 darker blues are better. I'd go for the dotted tie personally.

Agreed. Blue dots.

Thanks everyone - blue dots it is!

You should wear the blue one with the dots.

Would you guys wear any of these to a wedding instead of the usual silver tie that is recommended here? (Paired with a navy suit, white shirt, black belt/shoes)

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Grenadine black

Linen purple

Grenadine saffron

I'd wear the grenadine personally, but in a navy or burgundy.

Navy burgundy with navy suit? Burgundy is a safe choice as well--but it may make me feel like a politician.

Btw, the saffron picture is a grenadine as well.

I don't know your role in this wedding, but I would wear a minimalist, conservative outfit if I was a spectator and no other information. Navy suit, sleek black minimalist ankle boots (like a Chelsea), white shirt and a solid navy tie.

Not a fan of the saffron tie.

Any bootmakers that make boots from good-quality kidskin or goat? Looking for a Chelsea or Zip style.

$500 budget. Looking for something similar to and higher quality than these Giorgio Brutini boots: http://www.amazon.com/Giorgio-Brutini-Mens-80575-Dress/dp/B000HGM3K2
