What's a good place to buy high-waisted trousers?

No idea of your budget, but Ben Silver has traditionally styled trousers; should fit around your waist or thereabouts. Also try O'Connells.

Thanks man, I'll check those out.

I need sport coat support. I just bought these 3 from Saksoff5th and need to know whether to keep and how to wear

For context I'm a 42yr old government attorney living in the Pacific NW where we redefine the meaning of business casual. I'm trying to walk the line of looking distinguished without standing out.

Here's what the wife says. Corneliani brown plaid-70/15/15 wool/ silk/flax ($199) feels lovely but it's too used-car-salesman. The Corneliani cotton grey houndstooth($199) as the most casual versatile. The navy plaid linen Ike Behar ($125) is OK, no strong feelings. In general she's very skeptical of sport coats worn by anyone but Don Draper.

So what do the men say?

Thanks!

I like the one all the way in the front the most.

The mini houndstooth is too small a pattern imho, but it'll work well in a casual setting similar to how one would wear a linen sc. I need a better pic of the navy to evaluate. Not sure how I feel about the pattern without being able to see more of it.

Keep the plaids.

Here's the navy although the picture is a little yellow.

I've bought a blazer a few weeks ago online after having myself measured, my shoulders were around 18 inches and the I had the blazers length and sleeves tailored for my height. Everything else went perfectly, the waist, armhole etc. But when I unbuttoned the blazer and sat down upright I felt as if the collar is weighing down on the back of my neck and its heavy, constrictive and quiet displeasing. Am I wearing the blazer wrong? Is the shoulder too small? What's been causing this and how can I fix it?

I like that a lot.

Agree with the koala. Keep the plaids. Get a plain white linen jacket instead of the one you got.

Hi all, is the button stance okay? Or is it too high?

Chaps,

A question regarding MTM (with particular reference to UK).

I am wanting a couple of workhorse suits; nothing fancy as they will get slogged on the commute. I have some bespoke suits from Tom Brown and a few Cordings off the peg suits that I have had altered and have tended to use the latter for normal city wear and the former when something more stylish is called for.

I have recently moved and have found a local menswear shop that does what they describe as 'personal tailoring' and, on enquiry I have discovered it is MTM from Wensum and they have a pretty good selection of bunches, including a Dugdale book that looks quite tempting value.

I have never done MTM before and it will clearly be inferior to my Tom Brown suits, but is it worth the extra £200 per suit (which is roughly the difference) compared with my normal route for workhorse suits of buying decent OTR and altering? If the Wensum quality is good then I would feel happier in principle having MTM but I don't know anyone who has used the service before so am a bit in the dark. Any thought would be welcome...

Meermin vs. Carmina?

Is Carmina truly worth the higher price point? I'm just looking for the next level up in shoe compared to Allen Edmonds.

I'm not considering Cordovan.

can these loafers be worn with a jacket and tie, or they are too casual?
