Cross post:
Can anyone recommend any members who may provide a little guidance on a menswear accessory prototype I'm working on? It may seem a bit childish, but I'm hesitant to post pictures and have the idea "borrowed". By all means it's nothing revolutionary, justLooking to have some discreet and professional input

Cheers

The fit is fine. i'm not one to prefer shirts be skin tight in the torso.

Just a friendly suggestion.  A black shirt like that is not the greatest of looks :colgate:

Thanks for your response! smile.gif Do you think the fit of my pink striped shirt is okay too?

I do think that the black shirt is a bit too skin tight!

I'm intrested to hear why you think wearing a black shirt like I have in that pic is not a good look. Please do tell I would really appreciate it smile.gif

Does anyone have a recommendation for Linen or Cotton-Linen trousers under $150? I'd like to buy some before going on vacation in a month, and stores in Chicago certainly aren't carrying them right now.

Thanks

*EDIT* Tropical weight wool would work as well.

What about cotton/linen shorts? I have this pair from Henry Cottons I got at Bloomingdale's ages ago and have yet to find something as comfy and versatile.

Dress shoes question:

Is there any unofficial "hierarchy" of classic men's dress shoes (oxford, derby, etc.) starting from the dressiest to the least dressy that you can pair them with dressy jeans?

Generally the more ornamentation, the less formal. So a plain cap toe would be more formal than a pair of longwings. Oxfords are dressier than derbies. For office/wedding wear, a plain cap toe oxford is essential. It should come first. Black is more formal than brown, but generally speaking, you will probably get more wear out of brown shoes than black. If you can only by two pair of shoes, I'd say get a pair of plane cap toe black oxfords, and a pair of brown full brogue derbies or wingtips.

Check out the Brooks Brothers Clearance section. They might still have some.
