Recently received an order of a new tweed jacket, in the Samuelsohn Ashton cut. My initial impressions are the shoulders are too big (pics probably going to be posted in the tailor help thread later).
I have previous Samuelsohn jackets in the Geneva cut, which I believe is a more soft shouldered traveller blazer.
When I measure the shoulders seam-to-seam, the new tweed jacket is 1" - 1.5" wider than the other jackets I own (and which I believe are at least a decent, if not perfect fit).
When comparing two models like this, is such a difference an immediate red flag or do things like the fabric and style introduce a non-negligible difference between jackets?
Side note - unfortunately I don't have access to the base measurements of either model, but looking at the tags I noticed that the shoulders on my Geneva jackets were adjusted by -1/4" while the shoulders on the new Ashton jacket are +1/8" ... again not sure if this is something that could be a concern.
