Cross post from the tailor's thread:

What are your thoughts on the hole (first button from the top)? Easily fixed, or not worth the trouble?

Hardly noticeable. Looks more like a scratch than a hole. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the response. Hopefully someone else didn't cop it when I was busy asking questions!

I don't like the lapels on the second one.

What is with this guy? He has a blog if I remember and some kind of a following, but he always does all the buttons up? He looks fucking dumb. Does anyone know this guy's shtick?

Hi all,

Apologies in advance for being the newbie who asks this question, but taking a shot that someone might be able to assist, or point me in the right direction.  I'm trying to identify the hat brand worn by poker pro Josh Arieh in the attached video. Totally know I have seen the brand before, but drawing a complete blank. Really like it so taking a shot someone knows. Thanks in advance.

TL;DR: "I hate this guy. Please tell me more about him."

Hi guys, opinions on this outfit I've picked out to wear to the Chester Racecourse? The first is more representative of actual colour. Shoes are tan cap toe oxfords, couldn't fit them in the photo properly. Thanks!

Love it. Very appropriate. The pants and tie are a bit too wide and are giving this a grandpa look. Next time get them trimmed up and you'll look the part without being too old about it.

Man what's with these comments every where? Would you like it if someone posted a photo of you with similiar vitriol.

Thanks! Yes, pants do need to be tapered but not enough time until Saturday :(

I can't tell from that one, but I think it could possibly be one of those jackets (forget the name) that does drape properly with both buttoned. That actually seems fairly likely, given that he has a "following." Most people who are interested in menswear know not to button the bottom button.

Incidentally, he looks sort of dumb, bottom button done or not. The pants aren't my thing. Also, I would say that comments like this directed at a style blogger are entirely appropriate. I wouldn't say he looks dumb to his face, but the internet is not a hugbox, and I think there's less of an obligation to be gentle with someone who puts himself forward with confidence, saying "this is good," than there is with someone who's just asking for advice and information.

Would advise against tapering pants.  They have an excellent drape and clean lines all the way to the ground that you'll lose in a mess of wrinkles if you taper them.  Tie is a little wide for the lapels but not by too much.
