You might be exaggerating the problem. If you wish, send me a PM with photographs of yourself standing still with and without a jacket (please wear a shirt smile.gif ) I'll try to help you out with the fit.

Thanks a lot, very kind of you. Thanks to aravenel, too - I had missed his post.

I don't have the suits with me now, but I'll try and come up with something!

Does anyone have a rec for 3/4 length insoles that have a good amount of arch support without being too bulky in the heel? A few that I've used tend to have some heel padding which tends to raise up the heel and cause some slippage when walking. Solves one problem while creating another!

Thanks.

Hey all,

I'm new to the site and have a question for anyone who wouldn't mind doling out some advice/tips.

Recently bought this blue/navy suit ( http://us.suitsupply.com/en_US/suits/napoli-blue-plain/P3458I.html) to wear for a wide variety of occasions and looking for a nice pair of shoes to complement.

I bought these today ( http://www.zappos.com/boss-black-mettor ) but kind of regretting my decision the more I see tan shoes with navy suits.

Any suggestions/feedback would truly be appreciated.

Congratulations on a beautiful suit. As much as the words Hugo and Boss may appeal to you right now, with proper research you will very soon realize that you have wasted your money on these shoes. Return them before it's too late. Spend the same amount on these shoes:

I totally agree. I spent a while reading through a number of posts here and I only got those because they were on sale about 170, I was trying to keep it <200. The link you posted is exactly the color I had in mind, really appreciate it thank you ^__^

Yea or nay on wearing Prince of Wales trousers with a SC? I have a POW suit and thought about wearing the trousers with a navy SC, but never dared. Fabric is heavy worsted wool, I wouldn't try the jacket as a SC (DB 6x4).

Wait, are you considering the tan color?  That's how it sounds from your original post.  If you are going to have one pair of nice shoes to wear with your navy suit, I would strongly suggest it not be tan but the dark brown (or, as a second choice, black).

Should be absolutely fine.

I'd actually suggest a burgundy or oxblood as it will be more versatile than brown or black.

I think I'm trying to find a happy medium between dark brown and tan but I think I would probably play it safe as you've mentioned and go with a brown.

I generally agree with this, but it wasn't a color that I saw listed for the shoe the other member referred him to (black, dark brown, tan).

I think that's an amazing color but maybe a little too debonair for me lol

I agree with some gents below. Get oxblood, dark bourbon or black. Trust me, TAN/walnut is too debonair/out there. I know lots of guys here do it, but it contrasts too much when they don pick the appropriate suit color, drawing people's attention to the shoes, saying "hey look @ me!"
