I have a BB Fitzgerald I ordered off their website. I ordered a Navy suit, it says Navy on the invoice and i'm nearly positive it said Navy on the tag on the suit (which i've since thrown out) but the more I look at this suit, the more i'm thinking it's Black and not Navy. Everything I compare it to tells me it's black.
Does anyone know if there are any specific markings or numbers that differentiate the black from navy fabrics on the fitzgerald? Does anyone have the Navy Fitzgerald and can confirm the fabric is really dark, or is yours noticeably Navy?
I may have to go down to the BB store here to compare. Not sure what their going to do though.

BB 1818 navy is dark. Really dark. But if you had a black suit to compare it to you can easily see that it is navy.

Check the number on the tag inside the right breast pocket. 27094026 is navy. 37263026 is black.

It has the 27094026 listed inside the breast pocket tag. So I guess it is Navy, but man you are right, it is dark. I only have charcoal to compare it to, not black.

I think it's more of a mental thing on my part. If I know it's navy, even though it's a really dark navy, that's ok. If it was black, that would have been bad news.

Thanks for the help.

Anyone know where someone with a 26.5" waist could buy pants?

Murray's Toggery has nantucket reds in 26, but I can only wear reds so much before it gets.. well, stale.

All my business and formal wear are bespoke (RTW looks terribly sloppy on me since it doesn't fit), but casual clothes, especially of the GTH/critter pant variety is a little harder to do...

Quick question: How long should the arms and the pants of a suit be?
I've the feel that both is a bit too long on my suit.

Your shirt sleeve shouldn't be any lower than the start of your thumb-bone (means slightly past the wristbone). The suit jacket should show anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch of your shirt cuff/sleeve.

Pants should have 1 break, and should hit the top of your shoes.

This Gilt sale features Martin Greenfield suits for $999 a pop. I've seen Greenfield suits on gilt before, for the same price, and I'm wondering - is this the real deal? I thought MG would be more expensive. Could this be a cheap made-for-gilt line?

If this is legit, would you pay 1k for a MG suit?

Yes, but it's a superficial, short-term high that brings with it long-term financial ruin.

Meh, call it a stepping stone. Or perhaps inspiration for a cautionary tale?

I wouldn't buy a MG suit, period honestly. I mean they are made ok, but they are lacking in style and details, imo.

What's special about Tasmanian wool in comparison to standard wool? Can you give me insight into warmth, feel(softness), and durability? Thanks.

2 questions

1. would you wear the white calf loafers on the left?
2. if so, what would you wear them with?
