Best quality slim-fitting OCBDs for $100-200? $200-300? Any obscure brands worth investigating for shirting?

Brooks Brothers has both Slim and Extra Slim. Retail for < $100 each, and frequently on sale for less.

Kamakura has been gaining a lot of traction on the forum in the past couple months. Sub $100 though so under your desired range.

They are workboots, so wear them when you plan on beating the hell out of your feet.

^Might be, might not be. Wait until you get it and can actually feel the fabric.

.No, there are no labels...at least not identifying fabric content. It is what it is, but what's that?

Any discount codes for affiliate vendors?  I'm buying suiting cloth and a few accessories right now, and wondering if anyone has deals on for SF members?

Henry Carter always has 10% for SF members.

What's the difference between calf leather and "bovine leather"? I can't find any ref to it on any shoe forums. Shoes I'm looking at are calf inner lining with bovine leather uppers. All their shoes ate custom made so I could probably ask to have all calf. But the standard shoes looks nice (if a little 'home made') , so just wondering if this is something to steer clear of.

Bovine is just cow leather so I am assuming they just mean mature cow leather. While calf skin is made from immature bovine leather. This is a good resource on different types of leather.

Question on relationship between tie and lapel width.

If I have a suit with a lapel width of 2.5", would a tie with a width of 3.35" be too disproportionate? I know of the equal or 0.25" in either direction rule but can it work?
