Wet wool can have a very unpleasant odor. I got rid of it in one of mine by using Dryel. A regular dry cleaning would probably work too.

i have two regent fit cotton blazers from brooks brothers
they both have shoulder padding ... thinking about just removing them
but that will probably make the shoulders too big/loose?

Can a wool, cashmere tie be worn in the summer time?

What's maximum size for cuff on suit pants to still be considered CBD?

I'm not going to say it can't be done, but wool/cashmere ties are traditionally a Fall/Winter item. I'd certainly not choose to wear one during the summer.

Depends on the size of the person wearing them, but I'd say 2" is the max, and you'd have to be pretty tall for that to be considered CBD. 1.5-1.75" is probably safer.

Thanx. What about spring? if it is temperature wise similar to Autumn?

To a point, the temperature is irrelevant. Spring/summer and fall/winter are generally grouped together. Despite the average temperatures being similar, fall and spring have a very different "feel," which is why we typically wear different clothes.

I've never had that done, but I've heard that shoulders can be very difficult to alter.  Maybe you could ask the pros over in the tailoring thread?

Hey guys.  Is this Oxxford suit a value for money in the 500 quid range?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-3895-OXXFORD-CLOTHES-Navy-Blue-Stripe-Extrafine-Wool-Suit-42-R-Dual-Vents-/380593295048?pt=US_CSA_MC_Suits&hash=item589d20cec8

I have done so much research on these forums and Oxxford suits seem to be good value for mone.

Thanks

Yes. Oxxford makes a very nice suit, and that's a nice classic fabric, it's brand spanking new, and looks to be a pretty recent model.

Be warned though, Oxxford is known to have a generous fit. Check the measurements against something you own.

Oxxford makes, arguably, the best american made suit. Their cut and styling can be a little boxier (read, more american) than an italian suit, but their construction is on par with Kiton. Their off the racks suits start at $2k and generally are seen in the $3-4.5k range (USD). So if the measurements for this suit (that you listed above) are spot on for you, it would be considered a deal, not a steal. The problem i find with ebay is that you cannot check the garment before you buy it. While the suit looks (and probably is) brand new, you cannot check the fabric/color styling and fit before you buy so it is a bit of a shot in the dark and it is a lot of money. My advice, go for it under the condition that if you are unhappy with it (if it doesnt fit right and cannot be altered), you can send it back (which who knows the sealer will go for). If you spend that kind of money, i would make sure it is exactly what you want.

PM the seller on the forum; his name is Vman. He might be able to knock down the price a bit; he's a great seller.
