Is that with arms at a natural curl like you're at attention, or with arms perfectly straight?

lol natural hang, with your well-fitting jacket sleeve unwrinkled.

Why is black considered a poor choice for men's classic clothing because it looks too severe, but is acceptable and common in high end women's wear?

This is a men's clothing forum. Women are a different species altogether. We can't possibly be expected to understand their mysterious ways.

The salesperson said their motivation was to produce an in house product that competes with Alden/AE but with more continental looks. It looks to me that they may well have done that. He did not know who was making them.

I actually saw those recently. I was not impressed. I have no source on this but it is my belief that those "Made in Italy" shoes are actually made in China but have a final polish in Italy which allows them to qualify as "Made in Italy." Yes, the style is nice, but the construction is lacking. Just my thoughts.

How much did you pay for this? Less than $1k it's acceptable. More than $1k go back and ask for it to be fixed.

Also, your coffee stinks.

Meermin is not made by Carmina. While the owners share a surname they are not related; there's a review on Meermin by a blog I can't remember the name of that has explained this.

It is in general an uninspired, totalizing choice whether on a man or woman. (Audrey Hepburn excepted) It is common in high end because people retreat to its perceived safety and, presumably, the "slimming" idea.

Speaking of which...

The man has good business acumen but no taste. Where to start? The pointy shoes? The open shirt worn with a full suit? The low-riding/excess shirt cuff? The unbuttoned and flared sleeves? This looks like some weird nod to the '70s inflected through the lens of modern stupidity

Express is having a 50% off sale is a suit worth buying for 210? Jacket and Trousers?

No. No a thousand times over. For that price, you can easily find something infinitely better used or simply better new on eBay.

The second you purchase something better...and you will...that Express suit will be worn zero to never times a week.

Thanks I will just save my monies! I'm a poor college kid and if there is a better option I would rather do that. Plus I'm in a transition state where I'm becoming more aware of style so I really need to get some basics in my closet. Reading a lot of stuff over at effortless gent on getting started off as well as here

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a boot that is durable and has excellent quality yet can be worn around the city with jeans or khakis. Style is, in this case, more important for me than durability because these will only be worn on walks in the city but I still want them to be able to hold up in mild weather conditions (heavy rain). As a result, waterproof would be nice but not necessary. I've come up with

Danner Tanner Goods Mountain Trail Left Bank
http://www.tannergoods.com/products/danner-mountain-trail-leftbank-russet-chromexcel

Diemme roccia waxed suede
http://www.mrporter.com/product/316825

Alden Indy Kudu (or any Indy you guys would recommend)
http://leffot.com/shop/alden-indy-boot-kudu-404/

Which ones, on or not on the list, would you guys recommend I get? Thanks!

Hello Everyone!

I am updating my closet and getting rid of all my hollister/express jeans and starting off with something more plain and simple. What would yall suggest in Levi's the 514 or the 501 shrink to fit? I tried them on and felt them in the store the other day and the 501's felt way more durable and raw if that makes any sense. Thanks!
