You can open them up yourself. The question is whether or not you are going to use the pockets. If you don't think you will, I would just leave them shut.

I wouldn't count on there being enough to let them out that much unless the seller specifically confirms that there is.

Seller told me there is .5" - 1" of spare in addition to the cuff. I'm thinking about letting the cuff out and trying a fake/french cuff. From what I've read, there isn't a noticable difference as long as it is done correctly.

Unfortunatley cuffs are a must because they are pleated pants.

What is a fake/french cuff?

A cuff without hemming the pant I believe. Some tailors call it french. They probably just don't like to use the word fake.

I know it can give you extra length in the pant.

That makes no sense. You cannot "produce" fabric where there isn't any.

Just reduces the amount of fabric that is folded in on itself.

Posted this in SWD but didn't really get a response so I'll try my luck here.

I got these pants from Barney's that unfortunately came stained and they won't do anything in terms of an exchange and only offered a 10% credit. Any idea on how I can clean this out?

Also, any suggestions for good quality solid white and/or blue shirts for under $100?

So I have a pair of AE loafers and I daubed some shoe cream on it. I didn't polish it or anything else. Whenever water even touches my shoe, the cream gets stuck in the drop of water.

Did I do something wrong? Was I supposed to daub the shoe with a damp cloth after putting the cream on?

Thoughts on an Italian style suit, made of navy shark skin wool super 150s, peak lapel with a ticket pocket.

Not sure if all these features go together, I love the peak lapel but not sure if a ticket pocket would look off or not. I'm looking for a versatile suit with this effort, since I have the choice to omit or add details as it will be MTM. Any thoughts appreciated.

I want  good quality (AE level) shoe but with a "sleek/modern" look. I checked out McAllisters but I didn't like them even though the 5 last is one of the sleeker AE last. For example I like the 348 last from Crockett and Jones. Especially their Hallam. I have only seen pictures of the 348 last online though so I don't know what it actually looks like. I liked pics of the McAllisters but they look much chunkier IRL.

So what are some suggestions within a $300 budget?

Unfortunately can't return 'em otherwise I would have.

And no dress shirts. The Charles Trywhitt sale looks semi promising as there are still solid white and blue shirts.

black jacket with a navy grenadine and either a light blue or a blue gingham shirt?

Jacket is being worn tomorrow night for sure and I have a new grenadine I have been wanting to wear but I can't tell if this feels off...
