My dress shoe front tip portion of the sole is wearing down pretty fast, is this normal or am I wearing them too much? Should I use toe taps?

The portions of sole that show wear the quickest are the toe and heel, respectively.  Using taps on each will noticeably prolong the life of your leather soles and heels.  It is relatively cheap to pay your local cobbler, or you can install them yourself.  When the taps get worn down, simply replace the old taps with new.

This will feel awkward at first but you will quickly grow accustomed to them.  In fact, one of my heel taps fell off last week (needed to be replaced anyway), and it felt strange walking about town until I replaced it.

Let me try asking on this thread ... I love this "tall" collar. What is the correct language to use in describing this, i.e., How would you order it?63d3a33f.jpg

Perhaps pB himself will answer that question for you...

I purchased this pair of Cole Haan's today from the Rack for $59. The right shoe has what appears to be "stretch marks". Is this repairable?

 Topys are another option.

As far as i know it can only be repaired by re-stretching it. Which is quite a process. Allen Edmond only does it when they take of the sole and replace it.

What would be the most appropriate type of outer pockets for a smart navy blazer with chrome/silver-coloured metal buttons - patch pockets, standard flap pockets, or slanted/hacking flap pockets?

I do not know the maker of the shirt; however, I do know two things: that is a Drake's tie and this outfit is accompanied by freshly shined black non-derby shoes.

It's doubtful RL will exchange that suit. They will demand a proof of purchase (receipt) and they will turn their nose when they see a NM receipt. Maybe their customer service is feeling generous tomorrow. Doesn't hurt to give them a call

Related, I don't know a lot about denim and got lost in the FAQs in SW&D. I'm really not interested in acquiring an in-depth knowledge of denim, but I'd like something high quality. Any particular styles or brands I should look out for as far as a "go to" pair?
Finally, best way to hem them? I will probably need a 28" or 28.5" hem and I don't really go for stacking or cuffs. Thanks!

^^ May have gotten lost or no one knows, but I thought I'd ask again.
