Varies by maker. Traditional fits are very full. H&K's slim fits me very well in size 15, while Tyrwhitt's slim is too narrow through the shoulders. YMMV depending on your shoulders, neck-to-torso ratio and degree of slimness desired, so best to try them on (or check out measurements in your size).

This is one of those perpetual topics that make for difficult comparisons. I have a skinny neck, so H&K slim is as tight as I'd want. If my neck were an inch larger and my torso the same size, I'd probably find the slim much too full.

Apologies, I worded it incorrectly; I realise they vary so I'm looking for one who makes a slim (or standard) shirt marginally larger in the torso than Pink's slim shirts. The problem I have is that I live at the opposite end of the country and there are no nearby outlets to visit, so trying them on would be an expensive challenge and I'm reduced to buying them online. I own two slim-fitting shirts by Thomas Pink in size 15.5, so that's where my point of reference lies. Thinking a bit more about it, I'll just play it safe and get the H&K in Prince - they've got a sale on, and I've heard good things about the quality. Thanks for your help!

Measure your 15.5" Pink shirts.  Compare those measurements against those posted online for various other brands in 15.5".  If the companies do not have the information posted online, try contacting them to provide measurements.

Hey guys,

I have a quick question, and I figure this is as good of a place to ask as any.

I've been wondering for a while what this zipper (shown below) on my bag is for.

IMAG0173.jpg

It's a zipper on the bottom of an external pouch for my briefcase.

Any ideas?

It's there so you can put the roller handle of a suitcase through, so you don't have to carry the briefcase separately. My computer bag has that, only no zipper at the bottom. The zipper would be nice so you can use it as a pocket at other times, but it is a handy feature when you're dealing with carry on baggage in an airport.

Hey cptjeff,

That's awesome. Thanks for the advice. I never though about using it like that.

No idea but easy fit usually means the opposite of slim fit.

Hi,

I was wondering what are some decent brown leather (smooth calf) shoes, such as the Meermin http://www.meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=1967 shoes, but without the patterning/brouging.

I have some crappy quality brogue shoes which are wearing down, so would like a step up in quality.
The Meermin cheaper selection do have a nice brown leather pair - http://www.meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=1931 but it is 'grained' and I prefer the smoother look. Preferably around $300US or £250, like the Meermin.

I am also looking for a nice pair of quality black formal shoes, better than my rubber type of ones. Same price as brown.

Also, I am in need/wanting some loafers/drivers shoes. I am young; 20, so I don't particularly want completely leather loafers/tassal, but I am in love with the Sloop Slipon look - http://store.asuitablewardrobe.net/thesloopslipon.aspx - but I don't think I could pull that off in my kind of crowd, as weird as that sounds.
For these, I was thinking around under $200/under $150. Obviously I don't have a very deep pocket!

A bit off topic..but I'm Australian, and summer seems to be creeping around the corner, or more the fact I am looking forward to it.
So I am looking for a nice pair of light, white linen pants, with a slight taper, a light blue would work as well.
Price: under $150.

Thanks in advance

About three weeks I am going to a wedding, where the dress code is pink for the family members.

What cloth should be pink? Tie, shirt, PS or (suit)?
