What do you know about conservative? confused.gif

thanks for the reply.

how about windowpane vs navy stripe (formality level)?

425

vs

529

I'd say navy pin stripe over glen plaid. Then again if you're buying a suit for interviews I'd probably stick with a solid navy or dark gray to be safe.

Any suggestions on a good summer sportscoat for less than $200.

An Oxxford? Absolutely.

I just had a wristwatch strap replaced. How do I go about preventing the strap from becoming all worn from the buckle?

hey everyone came across a GQ article on boat shoes that had a pair I really like. but the linked product is definitely not the pictured pair.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find these? (#4 on the list, 3rd from the bottom)

How difficult (expensive) would it be to re cut a long suit jacket to a regular?  Also, is this commonly done?

Thanks.

I've contemplated this on a nice jacket i've seen on steep discount. Button & pocket placement seems to be what most people point out as being problematic. That and the fact that if the pocket depth is too close to the bottom of the coat, it will be extremely difficult for a tailor to reduce the length. Maybe a pic with the jacket on will be a good judge of how well the alterations will go?

Yeah, I would say anything more than 1/2" you're getting into trouble.

I think 1/2 would work perfectly as I'm right on the cusp between reg and long...only 6 ft tall but have 35 sleeves...is it something that most tailors can do?

I have asked a few tailors about it, and they do not seem to think it would be too much of a big deal to do. It should not be difficult to find a tailor that is willing to do it.

It's a nice suit but it does look dated.
