I saved this image on my computer, and now I'm having trouble remembering which boot model this is or where I got the picture. I intend to try to buy something similar. I'm guessing the green box might imply that they're Edward Green or Alden, but if anyone knows for sure which model this is I would appreciate it. I didn't see any similar model on the Alden website when I looked. I guess they could be MTO?

I have a pair of gamos that recently started making a creeking sound on only one heel, when I step. There is no visible damage inside or out, and the shoes have not been used in the rain. Anyone have experience or advise on the matter of correcting this?

When I have had this issue it was the shank moving. The maker resoled the shoes for me. Not sure about or what even are gamos.

EDIT: Ferragamos maybe?

Actually, it started on a star trek forum I posted on ages ago (where it really should have been cptn- I got the abbreviation wrong to boot). Nothing to do with the military, I just never got around to picking out a different name. I keep meaning to, but it's easy to type and remember, and the good names on so many forums are taken.

If I ever do change it, I'll probably go with a literary in joke. I've looked into Victory Gin, but the various permutations are taken on fark, and I like to have things consistent.

OK, so how about Star Fleet Intelligence or Kobayashi Maru victory.

Ah, I see what you mean, I'll look into that. Thanks.

And, yes, forgive the short hand...

I think you should take them to a cobbler so he can have a look. Perhaps some glue might fix the squeak.

Starfleet Intelligence tends to be more evil than incompetent. Kobayashi Maru only works for officers. biggrin.gif

It looks like the Alden Plaza last wingtip boot. Leather Soul usually carries them for around $6-800.

Any experience with Walk-Over shoes?

Or Luciano Brandi?

I've heard good things about Walk-Over, but I can't find a shred of info about Luciano Brandi.  A Gilt brand, perhaps?

Almost anything. Ignore the haters here. I live by lightweight linen and cotton summer scarves to keep my neck warm on cool mornings and after the sun goes down.

It's fine.

Sorry, but scarves are, to me, strictly practical. They keep you warm in winter, and it's good to have ones that look nice doing that. During summer, however, they serve absolutely no purpose and come across as affected.

Oh come now, lighten up... Do you feel the same way about neckties? I'm not sure the necktie serves any purpose at all, other than maybe a sort of indication of one's corporate servitude. biggrin.gif

Any suggestions about tailoring this blazer?  I'm  going to get some waist-suppression done, but with the high button stance, I'm worried that it might cause the jacket to flair out like a skirt.
