Hi,

I have a pair of pants that go to a nice DB suit, but the pants have become a little short for me. I could have a tailor take the cuffs off, but they would still be a little short. Is there anything else you think can be done to them? photo-12.JPG

Also, on a different note; when buying an overcoat should I go one size above my suit jacket size?

You can't create cloth. But could you take a photo of you wearing them to show us how bad they are? Lots of men wear their trousers way too long anyway, you may be closer than you think.

And no, overcoats are cut to be worn over a jacket. Same numerical size as your jacket- if you have a 40 inch chest, you wear a 40 jacket and a 40 overcoat.

I can't find them for that...not from a reliable source.  I love the black and red ones - but around $220 for the retro version is pretty standard from what I can find.

Can you tell me about lengthening jackets at the bottom. A member has told me this about a jacket he has for sale. I want to lengthen it from 29.25 to 30. Is this possible?
Quote:
There's a touch more than 1.5 inches of fabric allowance around the bottom hem, with just a bit less than 1 inch of fabric folded behind that (I believe, going on feel). So there's definitely a good bit to let out--at least an inch and likely more. At the very front, around the quarters, I believe it's the same deal, but you'd need to undo some stitching to get an actual look..

No, it is not possible to lengthen a jacket.

I have a gala event tonight and want to look my best. Which pocket square, tie combination will look best with this black suit?

Are you sure you don't want to introduce just a little more colour here? Like, maybe that striped tie with a pale blue or lavender square?

i'm partial to the solid tie with the white square... if those are your only options.

question: is it possible to get rubber soled shoes resoled? (specifically aldens)
