Desperate times call for desperate measures. I normally would never ask for help but I'm trying to exhaust every possible source I can.

Friends, my wife and I are having trouble securing a loan for the purchase of a pet resort in Athens, GA. It is hard to stay positive at this point.

After working with 6 banks, the most I could secure is roughly half of the purchase price. I have reached out to family and friends and still find myself $50,000 short.

Any possible solutions of where to secure extra financing?

Please keep us in your prayers.

A pet resort?

I might consider trusting the banks on this one...if they don't think it is enough of a good idea to write the loan then maybe it isn't

granted loans are tighter now...

I spoke with Zeus, he said no. Then he promptly threw a lightning bolt at a cat.

I'm confused whether this is a serious post.

If it is, then I hope you well with your venture, though a "pet resort" is sort of a out-there idea.

Yes guys, this is a serious post. Perhaps it is selfish of me to ask, and I apologize for that. I know this is a very difficult time for everyone. Let me rephrase pet resort to pet boarding facility. A clean safe and fun place for pets to stay when their owners cannot take care of them. This is my dream, my passion. Forgive me again, I really just wanted some advice in thinking "out of the box" on how to raise some extra money and prayer would also be nice as I pray for the same for all of you in difficult times (like when you were having financial difficulties Brian).

Being an asshole once or twice is alright, but Jesus, give it a rest already... You might not think this is the best idea, but lay off.

Sometimes this place completely weirds me out. In any case, good luck.

Best of luck in finding the $ D. I think a pet resort, hotel... can be a very profitable venture. When my sister had a dog and left him at these places when they were going away, it wasn't cheap.

At any rate, I'm not sure there are any 'out-of-the-box' sources of financing I can suggest that you haven't already thought of i.e. HELOC, credit cards, government pgms... check out the entrepreneurship or business plan clubs at your local business school and they may have lists of pgms or potential investors. I wish you all the best and hope things work out for you.

I think I have to agree with most others on here- the country is on the verge of crisis and I'm thinking that very shortly, people won't have the money to invest in such things like "pet resorts". If things get hard enough, they might be eating them. I say abandon it all together. You can't pray things into existence that aren't feasible.

ok sorry i just did not know what it was about from your first post which was vague. almost sounded like you wanted to go into some business enterprise in pet retail or something, which is fine, but still perhaps timing is still to be considered for when you want to go beyond your reach in terms of business/financial goals ?
my situation i was just trying to get myself out of a hole, i hope you know what i am saying. also, i was just selling off stuff and explained why, but out of your graciousness you offered to pray for me through PM which was very nice of you.

im not trying to compare per se, but im thinking like asking for prayer if one is in the hospital recovering from a bout of illness as compared to asking for prayer wanting to go to the hospital for some optional cosmetic surgery . not trying to argue, just as two adults wanting to clearly understand your point as i still sincerely dont understand fully.

i wish you well my friend though

EDIT: but now i reread your original post , perhaps your whole intent was to ask for advice if we knew any financial advice, which in that case, sorry for misinterpreting your whole point was basically to ask for prayer!!!
