Going to see MBV tonight at Roseland.
Did anyone see them last night or at any of the other recent shows.
Will my ears really bleed if I don't wear earplugs?

Your ears will bleed but it will be well worth it - MBV merits a little ear pain. I'm so frustrated with myself for not making arrangements to get to these shows.

You lucky bastard!

It used to be called the Atlantis.. I saw lots of great bands there in the late 70's when I went to GWU. television. David Johanson, the romantics dressed in burgandy leather. as well as the police with 12 other people before they started to suck. the slickee boys

Yes they were loud last night. My friend bought me the ticket. I had never owned a MBV record. I have heard their stuff on the radio etc. I did not get it. It was so loud that I could not really enjoy it.
I love Mogwai who is very loud, but there is melody in there. MBV had no actual songs that I could tell. It was pure noise.
I had good earplugs so no bleeding

I wish to God I'd been able to score tickets, permanent hearing loss or no.

Carl, Pick up MBV's Loveless. It is nothing but quintessential noise and the most glorious melodies. They make Mogwai sound like the Jonas Brothers. Loveless is the seminal DID.

I saw them in London in '89 and Australia in '93 - brilliant gigs!
