Deets on that carbon fiber case, please.

That carbon fiber case will not age well.

Instead of a "patina," you're going to end up with nicks and cuts and discolored spots all over the carbon fiber resin.

Ralph Lauren, Made in Italy

Purchased from Bergdorf, allegedly some limited edition type piece (wasn't a selling point for me)

Palladium hardware, carbon fiber and calfskin

The carbon fiber isn't like what I've seen before on cases and such-it isn't a hard "shell." It has some give and is very three dimensional (as opposed to a hard lacquered smooth surface), which is part of what attracted me to it in the first place.

I thought about that.  This carbon fiber is more forgiving than I've seen elsewhere and less of a hard plastic resin, it's very three dimensional, somewhat soft and almost pliable.  Regardless, I'm ok with some odd aging on the carbon fiber, as I think the contrast between the patina the beautiful calfskin will develop and the carbon fiber (even with the potential issues that you describe) will itself be a treat.

I know, it's going to take some getting used to, honestly. It was pretty disgusting retail, but my SA was kind enough to pre-sale it.
