While I understand you big ballers in here acquire far higher quality goods than most folks, I have to post this find because I've been looking for a cool solid blue tie for a long time. I was tooling around through my saved sellers on eBay, and I pulled up idfnl's huge collection of neckwear only to find this beauty by J. Crew:

Just...what...the....doctor...ordered. Honestly, I was surprised it was J. Crew, and made in the USA (which I like). This tie will be rocked very hard, oh yes, very hard.

End transmission.

I can't tell on my shitty phone, is that a wool/ suiting wool tie? I like solid tie regardless, and saw little difference between j crew and Olch versions

I went on a bit of a bender last month updating my winter wardrobe. I promptly checked myself into the NPC club after that. If anyone from the NPC club is reading - this was all pre-November! biggrin.gif

-A Hugo Boss winter overcoat for those frigid Edmonton winters - fits like a glove, and I just hate the boring black/navy coats that 90% of people seem to wear

-A nice reversible Armani Collezioni lightweight scarf to match - it's the first time I've ever liked wearing a scarf - not like the big thick itchy ones my mom made me wear to school as a kid

-A half dozen shirts from MyTailor (still waiting for those)

-A navy silk knit tie from Howard Yount - loving the casual elegance of a silk knit tie, but the are so bloody long, the back blade dangles below the front when I wear it, I always end up tucking it in my shirt.

-a spinach green silk knit tie from Paul Stuart - because one is never enough smile.gif

-a Sam Hober thai silk pocket square - my first square from Sam, and I'm really impressed since the fabric is a little more structured than satin silk pocket squares, I find it stays put much better and really looks good if you want that sprezz'd out crinkled puffed fold look

-a Etro pocketsquare from Mr. Porter - they have the most incredible customer service, getting a package from them is a real treat, and I'm really into the patterned silk squares now, they look great in elaborate puff folds

-finally, a Kent Wang sterling tie clip for the silk knit ties - I find my other tie clips that are more complicated designs snag easily in the silk. With sterling prices being so high, I think Kent Wang has the only reasonably priced one from pure sterling at $45

Btw, Spoo, can you keep an eye out for a Caruso overcoat in my size (US36/EU46) from the SFA at which you got yours? It would be bullseye for me.

It's all silk. Looks like grenadine, but I doubt it. I think its some sort of knit more likely.

Black Persol 649 and a light havana version as well!

Have to say I wear the light havana pair a little more often than black but either way the frame is such a nice way to differ from the Wayfarer trend.

Next sunglass purchase will be the Persol 714!

I don't necessarily mean the same one...I just assumed the store may carry something similar this year. Many thanks if you could! smile.gif

I just bought a plane ticket from Dallas to Baltimore and one from New York to Dallas. Do those count?
