Not sure yet. I believe I've ordered their socks before, but as soon as they enter the rotation with stuff from Smedley and Pantharella, I forget which is which. They do have a bit of nylon in 'em (this isn't clear from their site), which I usually try to avoid, but that probably just means they'll hold up longer compared to pure wool ones.

I think if you embraced the British suit wearing style for this shirt it would work beautifully.

Merino gloves ... times 10? Are you just stocking up on a good deal or do you wear through that many in a season?

2 for me, a pair for a friend. As for the rest? Christmas shopping done early

Knit gloves strike me as a very weird choice, but whatever tickles your fancy. Maybe for snowball fights...

 

As for the Smedley cardigan, I was thinking of getting one of these in fine gauge merino to put under a sportcoat. But now that I think of it, maybe cotton wouldn't run so hot when worn with other layers. How were you planning on wearing yours?
 

It's a replacement for a Smedley merino cardigan that I used to wear with just a shirt or a tee. I don't wear these layered with a SC - not that I mind the look, but if I'm in a shirt & coat I usually don't need the extra warmth. I expect it'll wear a little cooler than the wool one, which suits me fine.

Knit gloves are great for biking in the fall/early winter when it's not raining and not yet freezing.

more deets on the white undershirt? I'm looking for a fitted undershirt but I absolutely hate it when the collar comes close to my neck....would this work for me?

HRoi: I've only tried it on briefly. Nothing shows under a merino knit w/ a pretty deep v-neck, which is as I hoped. It's not particularly fitted though, but will have to wait and see after a wash and dry...

I never thought I would buy from J. Crew again, but I just got back with 4 of their pants. I only checked them out because Spoo seemed to be enjoying them, and alas, their classic Bowery fit surprisingly very-nice.

Brought my brother to off fifth today, to help him pick out a suit and overcoat. They were having a promotion of sorts and since i put his purchase on my card, i got a gift certificate, and this was all free!!!
