I'm not disappointed by the quality. I always find it hard to compare them to other brands, especially since I've only had them for a couple of hours . And it's my first pair of Loake's.

But, I think I'm getting the Kempton's instead... Three pairs of red brick soled suede shoes is just a bit too much, even for me. And I hoped they were quite a bit shorter than my Tetbury's (which feel too big/long), but they're not. Sizing down isn't an option, since the width is fine. Also, though I like the colour, I would have liked them to be a bit more brown; they remind me too much of my grey suede Walk-Over's.

I wish this model had dark Dainite soles (like the Kempton's) and were slightly more brown; then I would have kept them.

Let us know about the quality on the Kemptons please!

I bought and returned the Kemptons last year, the suede nap was visibly different between right and left shoes, and the boots had other little flaws, returned them pretty unhappy with QC.

I hope too, I own and have handled others Loake 1880 and they are very good solid shoes.
