They quality seems to definitely be on par. They are more roomier than the Incotex pants that I have. I can't wait to the weather gets cooler.

David Chu (the brand) is a sad story. Mr. Chu got bored of retirement/golf and took his Nautica money and started his eponymous brand. The first season was great stuff, shirts/pants/ties on par with RLPL, classic designs and attractively priced for a luxury brand, I think the pants were $350-400 retail. Fabrics were great calvary twills/flannels. Ties were classic, the mill I use for woven fabrics for my ties is directly attributable to David Chu. Great cashmere sportcoats, the pick of the litter going to Bergdorf Goodman. Then the shit hit the fan. Not sure what happened. One minute he was opening a flagship MTM/custom Chu operation in manhattan, to go side by side with the RTW, the next minute he is changing the factories of his RTW to lower end manufacturers, licensing the casual "LINCS" crap and just generally taking his eye off the ball. I know he had partners so there may have been some "profit maximization" pressures but this stuff fell fast. Saks terminated the line in their stores, they were pretty much getting back every suit/sport coat that they were selling from dissatisfied customers. Stuff would literally fall apart and the fabrics were now of the "made in (china) Italy" variety. Bergdorf followed suit. Don't think the manhattan operation ever got off the ground. All the stuff went to discounters, this was 4-5 years ago.

Thanks for the information, Ed.

Those pockets really show some attention to detail and workmanship. It's too bad to hear that they are probably in a very small group of products that were made to be of quality rather than to make absolutely as much money as possible.

Pants and ties were always good, at least I never saw badly constructed ones. The suits/sportcoats was where it really went south fast followed by the shirts.
