I've been trying to find a specific post of his which illustrates this, but it's difficult to sift through all of them. The best place I would consider to point you to is the Austro-Hungarian School thread. That is where I think you're most likely to glean his feelings about footwear. As for comparissons, I'd recommend checking out posts he's made in the G&G thread. For a detailed breakdown, check DWF's posts in any of the shoe threads. You're likely to find a good, technical explanation (not that Fritzl is incapable of being technical) and my observation has been that there is a good overlap between their opinions on the subject.

actually, I avoid conflicts these days. the glory days of my epic fights with manton, bengal etc. are long over. I'm glad for that. We respect each other, most of the time. I know what I have and I'm aware of my knowledge and my deficits on several topics. I prefer a direct approach mixed with a sense of humour which is unknown to most americans. So, it can be difficult to detect when I'm pulling someones leg or just being serious. I hope this helps.
