What headwear do you wear with a trenchcoat to protect your head from the rain?

Herald & Heart/Susquehana Hat Co. "Mason" fedora:

Australian hatters Akubra (as sold here: http://www.hatsdirect.com/) seem to get very good reviews from the hat-wearing fraternity for their balance of quality and price.

I also use an umbrella. The umbrella keeps my head dry, the trench coat keeps my clothes dry.

Tweed caps or fedoras. Umbrellas are generally for couples and are less appreciated when used by solo men on crowded sidewalks. A trenchcoat and cap will keep you dry.

+1 on the Akubra though I've worn mine out.

You have to wear hats with confidence - it's not an age issue. If you don't feel comfortable in a hat... don't do it.

Seems a sensible thing to do if rain is forecast ...

???

To the OP - if you like wearing a hat, wear one and fret less about whether under-30s should wear a hat or what others think ...

Applies to most clothing, but especially hats in our time. I didn't see the picture in your post, but I meant something like this:
