ANSWERS

I can't remember the name but just type masked magician and I'm sure you'll find it. It's honestly not a great show. You'd be better off reading Jim Steinmeyer's books if you like that sort of thing.

I finally checked out the Blaine special and though it was pretty good. The stunts never do much for me, but I thought he did a really strong selection with the street magic. Blaine has created such a memorable character, it's almost more fun to see how the crowd reacts to it then focusing on Blaine himself. The creative team he's been using recently is really top notch, I may actually add one of the stronger effects in my own repertoire.

I just had a thought based on your comment about not embarassing people when under. Is it possible to get people to do things in terms of capabilities, such as painting or drawing well when normally they wouldn't be able to, because hypnosis might allow access to the subconscious, or relax or limit the conscious which might normally interfere with that kind of creative process? A sort of forced savantism.

If so, I think it would be interesting to see a series of paintings from someone where they are done normally, and then again under hynosis.

^ An intriguing question.

This is probably more of a question for practitioners of clinical hypnosis moreso then entertainers like myself but I will have a go.

I view hypnosis like a nice (alcohol induced) buzz. You certainly have less inhibitions and are more easily convinced, but you will not do anything you really didn't have the capacity to already do sober. This is why the rather romantic notion of criminal masterminds having hapless subjects do their bidding from hypnosis is a silly Hollywood conceit.

Hypnosis will not make you do anything you probably wouldn't already.

Still - the clarity and confidence that a hypnotic state can induce may indeed lead to better-then-average work on the part of a subject. it would be no better then the subjects best un-hypnotized day, but it may aid in bringing about that level of work more frequently.

Right now the only regular performance I'm doing is at the two restaurants Clydes owns in Columbia. You're welcome to come have a meal and get the show. I can probably get you free drinks or something too.

i still dont understand completely how David copperfield flies in the air.

i know it is all trickery with invisible wires and camera angles and lots of practice, but i dont know how he is able to do the most impossible of them like flying into a glass box and doing things in there.
i mean, no matter how much practice or wires you have, i dont know how you can prevent his shirt or pant look from being tugged on by wires and how he can glide so smoothly like weightlessly. wouldnt there need to be wires coming from vertically above? but the glass box can only have wires go in horizontally. not sure how many wires and strength of the wires it takes to make him glide in the box so smoothly.

I like to think it's a great date idea. I have some special material I do for people on a date which is very strong and helps get some intimacy going. I am working really hard on hypnosis/mentalism stuff right now. I am very proud of a new bit I did this past weekend with one of the hostesses. She literally shrieked and ran back. Just let me know what weekend you want to do it and I'll let you know the best time/night.

No secrets in this thread sorry. Needless to say Copperfield's flight is a wonderful piece and should be appreciated on it's own merits.

So that douchebag magician (Valentino) is back on a new network. It aired last week and apparently there are 12 eps set to air. From the previews it looked like he was going after Angel.
