What type/brands of Shades for suits?

Are there any thumb rules?

I guess one is they have to be metal. And do you guys match the lens shade to any other clothing article?

I'm looking to get one for quite sometime and still haven't figured out what is most appropriate.

No fashionista here...just looking for a classic which is a sure winner.

Thanks

EDIT. MY BAD.

Classic Persols or Ray Ban Aviators. Those are going to be the best IMO.

I think the key here, as with many things sartorial, is to stick with classic, time-tested styles. I usually wear Ray-Ban Wayfarers with my suits, but I sometimes wear aviators (metal or plastic frames work fine for me). I don't generally stray from those formats, and I look for classic shapes that suit my face.

What I would avoid is anything overly fashionable or bold. If your sunglasses have bling on them, or giant logos anywhere, then they probably aren't appropriate for wear with a suit. I would also look to avoid any sort of sporty styles (Oakleys, for example). Sports sunglasses, like sport socks, are for sports.

He is a kind of EG, but more successful.

I second the wayfarer and aviator choice. I have used both when biking to work. I wear a suit or a blazer to work and in my opion it is a good match.

The bonus of those styles is that they work just as well with casual clothing, and anything in between. Plus you can have them for years and they will never look like yesterday's trend.

I third the wayfarer and aviator choice. Looks the best with a suit. Not too fancy but still looks great.

Yes, and make sure there are no arms to hook around your ears, just the lenses and a bridge.

Persol or Wayfarer.
