Just to add my two cents.. English: The Economist i-D wallpaper Whisky Magazine Japanese: Men's Club Men's EX Men's Non-no Begin I've found that Japanese fashion magazines are generally lightyears ahead with regards to coverage, pictures and practical knowledge; especially if you're into business fashion, as suits are de rigeur for 99% of companies.

Sorry for repeating a question, but does anyone know how sellers on Ebay can offer such good deals? Is it a case where you think you're getting a four year subscription but in the end you only get one year? Thanks.

For men's style magazines, I recommend: Arena Homme British GQ 10 British Fashion (or British Style...I can't remember the name off hand) All can be found at Barnes & Noble. I usually just browse through them in the store, as they are sort of expensive at $15-$18 a copy. Arena Homme and British GQ feature very wearable clothing. 10 leans towards the artsy and fashionista side - great photographs. However, the clothing and outfits that are featured tend to be less wearable. Judging by some of the articles, their target market is made up of mostly gay men. Not sure about the others.

can anybody recommend what i should read to keep up with what's happening in the clothing/fashion industry? what do industry insiders read?

I read Apparel News (you can glimpse some articles at Apparelnews.net) for West Coast stuff - pretty current and has news about emerging designers and smaller shows as well as established shows and designers. I also read DNR, but that is really marketed towards mass market, and is not going to keep you up to date on the latest stuff. Uomo has all the runway shows. If you want *all* the shows, subscribe to firstview.com. And if you want to hear a really respected point of view, read Suzy Menkes' articles in the International Herld Tribune.

DNR for men's and WWD for women's, are the 2 main industry publications that my company receives.

Hey topcatny, No disrespect meant, but Calvin Klein Jeans is not really a trend leader these days (although I've seen some pairs lately that I'd definitely buy on sale.). WWD is only slightly better. Most of the best retailers I know read pretty much every lifestyle magazine I know, especially European ones, and including non clothing specific ones like ID, Wallpaper and Blackbook, and specifically search out smaller designers that get little or no press.
