Hair curls in the back

I usually have very short hair but I'm growing it out a bit more based on the haircutters advice. As it grows longer (not even that long), the hairs on the back have started to curl. I think it looks weird. He claims it's fine. I really just want it to stop curling... Has anyone else had this issue and how do you fix it?

Blow drying it may help. Also don't use shampoo as much. Mine is on the longer side(bangs cover my entire face if I let them) and the natural oils help to weigh it down so to speak. I condition it and rinse it daily, but only shampoo once or twice a week. It's not gross or anything. The ends of mine always curve up a little bit though. But I don't mind.
