Audi R8

What do you think of the Audi R8? It's about 100K. Would you buy it if you have the cash?

I certainly would. It's pretty awesome!

They're quite common around my area, it seems. There are a couple different ones I see on a daily basis. I guess it's a hit, at least in Seoul, where people seem to always prefer Benzes and Ferraris.

the new audi's are awesome in general, i think. the A4/A5s are really nice to look at imo. . wroom.

Definitely not. The TT on steroids look does not do it for me. There's a lot sexier stuff in that price range.

I like them much more in real life than in photos however I think they command prices well in excess of $100K, especially after a large dealer markup. I honestly can't think of too many other sportscars I would prefer in that price range. I've never liked Porsches, mostly from a design standpoint, and I find MB cars overpriced, so that pretty much leaves only Aston Martin.

The new GT3 class version is NICE. R8 racer Forget the rumoured V10 version or the V12 diesel. If you want the lairiest, scariest R8 - hell, the lairiest, scariest Audi, full stop - you need this. This is the GT3 R8, the racing version of Audi's mid-engined supercar set to compete in the FIA GT3 championship next year. How totally, totally, really-quite-cool is it? We're loving the massive rear wing, kinked carbon fibre wing mirrors and fat chin splitter. It won't just look good, either. Audi is promising '500bhp-plus' from the R8's 4.2-litre V8, channelled through a six-speed sequential gearbox to - now here's the really fun bit - the rear wheels only. See, GT3 regulations prohibit the use of four-wheel drive, so you're looking at a drift-monkey in the making. Audi will deliver the first racing R8's to customers next autumn. Just imagine it battling it out with Gallardos, F430s and DBRS9s across the race tracks of Europe. I grant you not as a daily driver ... For those that have the standard, there are some nice pieces availble: I believe it is Fischer composites that does these pieces, so you get the highest rated Cf on the planet. But the nicest adition is the SIdeblade:

Totally agree- I'm seriously hoping to buy an A5 next year though a 4 fits better in the budget.

They are nice cars but I'm not an Audi fan.

The RS series are the "end of life" series. They usually come out in the last production year of the current model. The more regular S is the "launch" version, The last S3 is quite nice, the balance is not bad either.

fine by me. i won't need one until it's time to add the R, anyways! the S3 is awesome........but can't get one here yet. at least they're bringing 2.0 quattro in now.

Of course, but the A8 GT3 mentioned above is that much nicer.
