I got my issue today. Â I love the slim cut, but the low button stance creates a bit of dissonance. Â I always think of a slim cut and narrow lapels naturally going with a high button stance. However, the accompanying write up says that three-button suits will also be available, so those might look better than the two-button models depicted in the magazine. There is also a brief interview with Ralph - he says he was going for a combination of North by Northwest and Sean Connery-era James Bond. Â He also confirms that the suits really are that slim. Also, the model is Gavin Rossdale, lead singer of the awful band Bush.
I don't know, I sort of think the low button stance opens up, or perhaps elongates the slim cut. While I see some connery in the suit (sort of -- but remember that Connery was actually built), I don't see too much (or any really) North By Northwest. Does anyone? I only mention because I had a suit bespoke along the lines of North by Northwest years ago. I probably didn't get it exactly right, but I tried to pay as much attention to Grant's suits in that film as possible.
